Belt Wrestling is a traditional and internationally recognized combat sport played between two athletes on a 9-meter diameter wrestling mat. Wrestlers wear white trousers, green/red or blue jackets, and red/yellow belts, and must maintain a grip on each other’s belts throughout the match. The aim is to throw the opponent onto their back using strength, technique, and strategy. There is no ground wrestling—all action takes place while standing.
