About TWAI

Traditional Wrestlings Association – India (TWAI) is the official governing body in India for promoting and developing traditional wrestling styles like Belt Wrestling, KoluchStyl, Khapsagai, Pehlwani, Zurkhaneh, and more. Recognized by international federations, TWAI represents India at global championships and works to preserve our rich wrestling heritage.

Our Mission

To revive, promote, and globalize traditional wrestling styles across India by building strong grassroots systems, organizing national and international events, and providing athletes with a platform to shine on the world stage.

Executive Committee

Sudesh Kumar – President

A veteran in Belt Wrestling since 2007, Sudesh Kumar is a former National Champion and Greco-Roman World Championship participant. With nearly two decades of dedication, he leads TWAI with the mission to make India a global hub for traditional wrestling.


Ajit Singh – Vice President

With strong ancestral roots in Indian wrestling, Ajit Singh has played a key role in training and supporting numerous international-level athletes. His leadership in talent development and state outreach is vital to TWAI’s mission.


Vikram Singh – Vice President

A respected figure in the wrestling community, Vikram Singh comes from a rich wrestling background. He is a strong advocate for traditional combat styles and provides strategic support for TWAI’s expansion, events, and public outreach.


Abdul Hameed – General Secretary

Actively involved in traditional wrestling and Belt Wrestling since 2007, Abdul Hameed brings extensive experience in organizing and managing grassroots to national-level wrestling programs. His administrative leadership ensures TWAI's smooth operations.
